UNIONDALE, NY -
After a long year of waiting, it was nice to
see an Islanders player attend a Booster Club
meeting. After a year of being hockey
challenged, Islanders hockey is back.
With that, the New York Islanders Booster Club
had their first meeting of the 2005-06 season
on October 24thThe wait was finally over, as
Brent Sopel visited the NYIBC for the first
meeting of the 2005-06 Season.
New NYIBC
President Claire LeCompte welcomed everyone to
the meeting, and discussed some club issues,
before our guest took to the microphone.
Brent was
quite candid on things, especially some of the
rules changes (he hates the defensive delay of
game penalties), impressions on the start of
the season, and did a meeting turn-around and
was asking questions of the audience. He
was candid, witty, and a pleasure to talk to.
