UNIONDALE, NY -
Less than two weeks after the successful
meeting with Alexei Yashin, the NYIBC were
once again back at the Marriott for another
get-together. This time, a special
Sunday meeting was set up and as luck would
have it, the Islander that was the first star
of the previous night's contest was the guest
at the meeting.
Trent Hunter,
the Islanders second year power forward was
the guest, and provided the nearly 100+
members in attendance a lively discussion, as
well as providing a great holiday present for
one of his biggest fans.
Josh Buglione, a
16 year old sled-hockey player from
Connecticut is one of Trent's strongest
supporters. The Islanders and the
Booster Club invited him to attend our meeting
today and Trent gave him an autographed shirt
to commemorate his visit. The smile on
Josh's face said it all. The Booster
Club also gave him some memorabilia.
"When I found
out about Josh (from the Islanders), it was
such a touching story that we thought it would
be perfect for the holidays", said Claire
LeCompte, NYIBC President. "Then when
Trent got up to take his shootout attempt, I
yelled, '...this one's for Josh!', and then he
scored for him. You could not have asked
for a better game for Josh to see than this."
We also received
this e-mail from Paula Gallo - a new member,
that we wanted to share with you:
HI,
I just
wanted to say that today's meeting was the
first one I attended since I recently joined
the booster club. I went today because Trent
Hunter is my favorite player. The reason why
I am contacting you is because of the nice
thing you did at today's meeting for Josh
Buglione the boy from CT that came down w/
his dad and grandfather for the game and the
meeting. I met them Sat nite at the game and
the Dad was telling me how much Josh looked
up to Trent Hunter....Just seeing his face
when he met Trent on Sunday brightened up my
day........ The Islanders and the Booster
Club was so nice to them going out of their
way the make up the basket of gifts for
Josh, the signed hockey stick by Trent and
the signed shirt by Trent..........I just
cant express enough how grateful I feel for
what you did for this boy. Like I said I
only met them Sat at the game and we chatted
awhile at the meeting on Sunday. Ok now I am
beginning to ramble. I wish you and the
entire Islander Family a Happy and Healthy
Holiday season..............
LETS GO
ISLANDERS !!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Paula
Gallo
