OPENING
NIGHT 10/14/2006
BRUINS @ ISLANDERS
|
By Gary Harding
UNIONDALE, NY -
The Opening Night of every season is that
special time where fans are always hopeful
that their team will being their quest for
the ultimate prize; Lord Stanley's Cup.
For the
Islanders and their fans, October 14th was
no exception. In an annual Booster
Club tradition, a tailgate party was held
before the game. We had a nice crowd
of Boosters hanging out, barbecuing and
having cold and warm beverages as we waited
patiently for the arena to open its doors to
the fans.
Bryan Trottier
and Mike Bossy started the game with the
opening face off. Bossy is back with
the organization and the Boosters can not be
more happy about that. The Islanders
dominated the last 40 minutes of the game,
as they defeated the Boston Bruins 4-1.
The following
were some pictured that I took from the
afternoon.
