WE JUST ORDERED LONG ISLAND DUCKS TICKETS.  WE HAVE SUNDAY JULY 22ND PICNIC BEFORE THE GAME, AND TICKETS FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 18TH, WITH FIREWORKS FOLLOWING THE GAME.  PLEASE MARK THESE DATES ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW!  FRIENDS AND FAMILIES ARE WELCOME! MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW SHORTLY.

ALSO - ON SATURDAY JULY 14TH, THE DUCKS ARE PLAYING THE BRIDGEPORT BLUEFISH IN BRIDGEPORT PARK AT HARBOR YARD.  OUR FRIENDS AT THE SOUND TIGERS BOOSTER CLUB ARE RESERVING TICKETS FOR THE GAME, WHICH WILL BE $8.00 PER PERSON.  MORE DETAILS WILL COME ON THIS TOO.

BEST OF LUCK TO BLAKE COMEAU AS HE NOW HEADS OFF TO CALGARY TO PLAY FOR THE FLAMES.  HE IS A NICE MAN AND IS A GOOD PLAYER, THAT WE WISH WELL IN HIS NEW HOME (WELL - UNLESS HE IS PLAYING AGAINST THE ISLANDERS...)

LAST NIGHT WAS OUR FIRST MEETING OF THE SEASON. HEAD COACH JACK CAPUANO WAS OUR GUEST.

HE WAS UP FRONT AND GAVE US A GOOD ASSESSMENT OF WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON, AND ANSWERED EVERYONE'S QUESTIONS.

WE ARE VERY GLAD THAT HE CAME TO THE MEETING.  WE HOPE THAT WE WILL GET INFORMATION ABOUT OUR NEXT MEETING VERY SOON, AND PASS THAT INFORMATION TO YOU. 

ALSO - WE EXPECT TO HAVE OUR LATEST NEWSLETTER OUT WITHIN 2 WEEKS FROM NOW.

UPDATE 10/23/2011
The picture below is of Gary and Claire Harding, along with Phyllis Gill.  Last Sunday, the 16th, they walked in the annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer outing at Jones Beach.  We are glad to say that the three of them received donations of nearly $3,400 towards the total donations of nearly $2.9 million dollars that was donated during that day.  Phyllis is a recent Breast Cancer Survivor, and a proud Islander fan!  Gary and Claire were happy and honored to be able to walk with Phyllis.  Way to go folks!!!

UPDATE 6/26/2011
The Booster Club would like to wish congratulations to Ryan Strome on his being selected by the Islanders with their first round selection in the NHL Draft. This is information on this from The Scouting Report.org

• Strome is without a doubt a player who is very hard to ignore while he is on the ice, he seems to have an uncanny ability to make all his moves at top speed causing havoc for any OHL defensemen who tries to keep up with him. Strome demonstrates great skating ability, most notably his explosiveness and agility. He has a great ability to read plays and utilize his skating ability to find openings in the defensive coverage. Strome also shows a great ability to read the play and hit his teammates with great passes.
